Most of us probably know that fans of Star Trek are called 'Trekkies', but do fans of Dark Shadows have a nickname? If not, any suggestions (or could we end up cursing ourselves more than if Angelique saw Barnabas playing 'footsies' with Josette)?

No. It was not.
It was a play on words, based on the discussion question.
and...
I meant that firestorms don't happen in Maine.
Please don't infer differently.
Well, having lived in the Southwest there are fewer Afro-Americans, so I think not as much in terms as white and Afro-American like you do in parts of the Northeast or Midwest or South. Out here we have whites and Hispanics which are the two biggest groups, so I didn't that his remark in a racial one since we think less in terms of White and Afro-American like you would in other regions.
I also did not see anything racist in the remark. In fact, I still don't. Only Claude seems to have seen it as racist.
If you say so. However, since "firestorm" is the immediately preceding noun, the rules of English implies that is what the "something" refers to, and that is how I read it.
I do say so.
The rules of English, and common sense, imply a different meaning beacuse of the fact that the second sentence is a new paragraph and the word 'Darkies' is emphasized in quotation marks in the first. I surely don't need to tell you what other connotations the word 'Darkies' has.
If Karlcollins really wanted to be clear with their meaning, the following would have been typed:
As they never have firestorms in Maine.
As they never have firestorms in Maine.
Carl, the dippiest Collins, I am.
Should have been Karl N. Collins, though.
Pansy! Pansy! Where are you, Pansy!!
At least, Nancy can SING, Pansy!!!
Much better! I'm happy now.
