I saw Fonzi's jacket, Dorothy's ruby red slippers & Archie Bunker's chair at the Smithsonian a few years ago. Barnabas' outfit was no where to be seen -- wonder if they keep it in storage next to Seinfeld's 'puffy shirt'.
I wonder who owns all those paintings from the show ? I know Lara Parker owns the painting of Angelique from the movie but what about the paintings of Barnabas, Quentin ( young and as a very old man), Laura Collins in flames, and those Sam Evans paintings ?
I have a question for everyone, and I hope we can start a discussion... If you had the money, what Dark Shadows items would you buy? I know most people would like to be given a house like Collinwood, but would you pay the millions it would take to buy or reproduce it, or would you think the money better spent elsewhere? Here are some iconic items for discussion:
01. Quentin's "Devil's Mark" ring 02. Count Petofi's garnet ring 03. Josette's ring 04. Barnabas' Onyx ring 05. Aristede's moonstone finger ring 06. Leviathan ring 07. Leviathan pendant 08. Leviathan box 09. Leviathan book 10. Angelique's moonstone pendant 11. Julia's hypnotic pendant 12. Hand of Petofi 13. Box containing Petofi's hand 14. "Dancing Girl" dagger 15. Aristede's protective pendant 16. Barnabas' toy soldier 17. Silver Pentagram necklace 18. Barnabas' cane 19. Barnabas' Inverness cape 20. Barnabas' haircut (1795!) 21. Petofi's rose colored glasses 22. Barnabas' portrait 23. Angelique's portrait 24. Quentin's portrait 25. Laura's candle 26. Gerard's talisman 27. Amanda's portrait 28. Barnabas' coffin 29. The Old House 30. Collinwood
Also, 31. Josette's portrait and 32. Portrait of Laura Collins in flames - as for Barnabas' Onyx ring, Jonathan Frid said it was a very cheap trinket the producers bought at woolworth dept. store - a high quality replica would be nice but the original is a piece of junk. I'd buy 22. Barnabas' portrait and 23. Angelique's portrait. And Josette's portrait.
I vote for a Dark Shadows museum located somewhere on the coast of Maine. Maybe some town will be willing to rename itself Collinsport or George Bush, Sr. will bequeath his compound in Kennebunkport for the project.
Don't know if George Bush is a Dark Shadows fan - a museum would be a great way to preserve whatever artifacts still exist from the show. As for the fans getting together to film a new episode - it's been done on audio with original cast members - doing it on video with them would be amazing. I'd LOVE to see that.
How could I forget Josette's music box? -- Actually I got one of those back in the day and was disappointed that it was plastic. ($4.90 used to buy much more in 1970!) Now the same plastic toy sells for $400 - $500 on ebay.
I DO NOT KNOW HOW OFTEN ANY DARK SHADOWS LOOK AT THESE POSTINGS, BUT SHOULD SOMEONE SEE MY POSTING HERE, AND THEY KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND AND BUY THE 1969 OR 1970 BEN COOPER BARNABAS HALLOWEEN COSTUME STILL IN IT'S ORIGINAL BOX AND IN DECENT SHAPE (IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE EXCELLENT OR MINT DUE TO IT'S AGE AND THE THIN PLASTIC THE MASK WAS MADE OF AND THE THIN RAYON MATERIAL THE BLACK COSTUME WAS MADE OF) SO IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE I CAN FIND AND BUY THIS ITEM PLEASE EMAIL ME AT
I AM WILLING TO PAY UPWARDS OF $900.00 TO $ $1,000 FOR THE COMPLETE SET IN IT'S ORIGINAL BOX OR I WILL PAY WELL FOR JUST THE MASK.
