What was the origin of Count Petofi's hand? I've also heard it called the "Hand of Oshden" by Evan Hanley on the classic 1897 episodes. I believe Oshden (or Ozden) was some forest he was referring to.
- I believe (although I could be wrong) that the Hand of Petofi was inspired by the 1946 film, The Beast with Five Fingers, starring the great Peter Lorre, in glorious black and white! (I'm a HUGE Lorre fan!) Although more a mystery than a horror film, the story is about an evil severed hand of a gifted (yet wheelchair-bound) pianist that murders several people in a 1900 Italian villa. Yes, the hand even flies, gets stabbed, burned, and wears a giant black ring! Sound familiar? :D See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhIU9W_S6Ds --House of Dark Shadows 06:35, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
