The portrait of Barnabas Collins was a large full-body painting depicting the oldest son of Joshua Collins. It had been painted by 1790 (prior to Barnabas' death in that year), and hung in the Collinwood Great Hall. When Barnabas returned to Collinwood two hundred years later, the portrait helped him in his claim to be his own descendant, thanks to the uncanny resemblance between the two (1).
