Parallel Time
From The Dark Shadows Wiki
Parallel Time was an alternate history accessible for unexplained reasons (although possibly in connection with Quentin Collins' experiments) via a room in Collinwood's East Wing. The full differences between the two histories are not known, but the following are some...
- Collinwood was built about a century earlier, no later than the 1690s. Precisely when the Old House was constructed, and why, is not clear, but as it was still called the Old House, it must have been the original family home.
- In the late 1600s the Collins family fell under a curse as a result of the actions of Brutus Collins.
- In 1795, Barnabas Collins wed Josette Collins and they later had a son named Bramwell Collins.
- Sometime in the 1960s Angelique Stokes married Quentin Collins, the owner of Collinwood. Her father was Timothy Stokes and her twin sister was Alexis Stokes. Around 1970 Quentin married Maggie Evans, about six months after the death of his first wife (983).
- William Loomis, married to Carolyn Stoddard Loomis lived in the Old House, called "Loomis House".
- Roxanne Drew was a psychic living in the 20th century, not an ordinary young woman in the early 19th.
Two story lines on Dark Shadows dealt with Parallel Time. In 1970 Barnabas Collins discovered it and sought to go there in hopes of curing his vampirism (it didn't work). The other was immediately following the defeat of Judah Zachary in 1840.
Whether the two plot lines of Parallel Time took place in the same timeline is not clear, although in both Barnabas Collins did not become a vampire but instead married Josette, had a son named Bramwell, and died penniless in both.
In 1841 PT, Jonathan Frid played Bramwell Collins and married Daphne Harridge. We are told after the series finale he married Daphne's sister, Catherine, who was already carrying his child and that they had one of the happiest marriages known. This was the series finale.
