Morgan Collins
From The Dark Shadows Wiki
Morgan Collins (d.1841) was the eldest son of Justin and Flora Collins. His brothers were Quentin and Gabriel and his adopted sister was Melanie Collins. He married Catherine Harridge.
The eldest child of Justin and Flora, Morgan stood to inherit the bulk of the Collins fortune, but it was a mixed blessing as every generation one member of the family was doomed to spend the night in a locked room of Collinwood. So far out of the six who had, three had gone mad and three were found dead the next day (1199). Morgan's father had gone mad after he "won" the lottery.
When Stella Young was murdered in the Tower room, it was Morgan who was asked to bury the body (1204).
Morgan courted Catherine Harridge, the former love of his cousin, Bramwell Collins when Bramwell left America in 1836 to seek his fortune. One month before their intended wedding date, on the same day his father had a sudden attack, Morgan found a newly-returned Bramwell kissing his fiance, but she insisted she no longer loved Bramwell and would not see him again. Knowing his father would die soon, and fearing he would be the next to suffer the curse of the lottery, Morgan asked Catherine to go ahead and marry him, but would not tell her why. She refused because of his father's condition, but relented later when she discovered she was pregnant with Bramwell's child. When the lottery was held, Gabriel Collins was chosen, but escaped. Since they could not locate Gabriel, the lottery was re-held and Catherine won.
Even though Morgan did not know Catherine was pregnant, he and Quentin had the lock changed on the door to the locked room and he took Catherine's place. Gabriel was recaptured, but not before a strange madness overtook Morgan. The short time Morgan spent in the locked room caused him to become possessed by the spirit of James Forsythe.
