K.C. Townsend was born Kathleen Fay Sullivan in Fargo ND about 1941. Her parents were Virgil Mike and Fern Sullivan. Her family came to Waseca MN from Barnesville MN in the mid-1950s. Her parents owned and operated the Dairy Queen in Waseca. Kathi and her older sister Patricia worked in the Dairy Queen. Kathi graduated from Waseca High School in 1959 and attended the University of Minnesota in 1959-1960. Kathi went to New York to pursue her acting career in the spring of 1960. She lived for many years at 200 W 58th St. - Apt. 5C. She told me in 1976 that she'd married an Italian director. According to the Dark Shadows Obituary Page, K.C. K.C.'s Memorial Service at the Actor's Chapel was packed to capacity. K.C. also starred on Broadway in One Flew Over The Coo Coo's Nest.
After her death, her friends donated all her scripts, press releases, newspaper photographs, and all her career memorabilia to the Library of the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.
