Ben Cross (December 16th, 1947 - August 18, 2020) was a British actor who played the role of Barnabas Collins on the 1991 NBC Dark Shadows revival series. His likeness was used to illustrate his character in the various comic book series published by Innovation Comics. Ben Cross, Ely Pouget and Veronica Lauren were the only primary cast members to only play one role in the series.
In the original Dark Shadows series, the role of Barnabas Collins was played by Canadian actor, Jonathan Frid

Outside of Dark Shadows, Ben Cross was featured in many movies, including a number of films within the horror genre. He tended to play characters who are obsessives with a tendency towards moral ambiguity. A small example from his resume would include:
Personal life and death[]
Ben Cross was married three times - to model Penelope Butler (1977-1992, two children), gyrotonics trainer Michele Moerth (1996 - 2005), and Bulgarian artist Deyana Boneva (2018-his death). In his later years, he lived primarily in Vienna, Austria.
Cross died from cancer in Vienna on 18 August 2020, at age 72. He had recently finished two films, The Devil's Light and The Last Letter from Your Lover, which will be released posthumously.
