Davis was a stubbly-bearded mute servant who worked in the employ of Barnabas Collins in the late 19th and early 20th century. Aware of the fact that Barnabas was a vampire, Davis watched over him while he slept during the daylight hours. Barnabas selected Davis as a guardian due chiefly to the fact that the man’s inability to speak would render him incapable of accidentally revealing his secret to others. Davis lived with Barnabas at the Old House on the Collinwood estate as late as the year 1910.
