Angélique was born as Miranda duVal during the 17th century in the West Indies of Martinique. During her early teen years, Angélique travelled to America, were she became a faithful and loyal follower of a warlock <nowiki/>named Judah Zachary. Judah took Angélique under his wing, and taught her the sacred arts of magic and witchcraft. One year later, both Angélique and Judah were captured and exposed as witches by the Catholic Church. Fearing her fate of death, Angélique betrayed Judah by testifying against him in exchange for her freedom.

Angélique Bouchard (1795)
Miranda was later reincarnated as Angélique Bouchard. She was raised by Theodore Bouchard, who she believed to be her father, before coming to work for the duPres family. Later Angelique realizes her father is Andre duPres, but never tells him. As the Countess Natalie duPres' servant, she follows her to Collinsport, Maine. However, after having a brief affair with Barnabas Collins, Angélique was heartbroken after Barnabas declared his love to another woman - Josette du Prés. After countless failed attempts to rekindling her romance with Barnabas, Angélique hexed a powerful spell to manipulate Josette’s love for Jeremiah Collins, Barnabas’ uncle. After Josette eloped with Jeremiah, Angelique coerced Barnabas into marrying her. However, after the discovery of her practices in witchcraft, Barnabas supposedly murdered Angélique. Before her "death", Angélique cursed Barnabas as a species of the undead and fell into a coma where she was presumed to die. Later, after her surprising survival, Angélique was devastated about what she did to Barnabas, and tried to reverse her spell. She is the first victim of her own curse, being in love with Barnabas. He strangles her in the secret room of the mausoleum. Her soul is claimed by The Dark Lord in exchange for letting Barnabas continue existing as a vampire through her curse rather than perish.

After Josette eloped with Jeremiah, Angélique coerced Barnabas into marrying her. However, after the discovery of Angélique's practices in witchcraft, a furious Barnabas shot her with a pistol after Angélique threatened the life of Sarah Collins with her magic. Thinking that she was dying, Angélique cursed her husband to become a species of the undead and fell into a coma. As a result, Barnabas was attacked by a hellish bat and died, resurrecting as a vampire. Later, after her surprising survival, Angélique was devastated about what she did to Barnabas and tried to reverse her spell. Angélique was the first victim of her own curse; having been in love with Barnabas, he strangled Angélique in the secret room of the mausoleum. Angélique's soul was claimed by the Dark Lord in exchange for letting Barnabas continue existing as a vampire through her curse rather than perish. Angélique would continue to plague him and the Collins family into the present day.
Her next appearance (from her perspective) is in 1840, where she again resurfaces, surprised to see Barnabas missing from the chamber he was trapped in. Initially an antagonist, she eventually aids Barnabas against the threat of Judah Zachary and Lamar Trask. Mortally wounded in the process, she dies in Barnabas' arms, as he declares his love for her.

There are two alternate 1795–96 timelines. The first occurs when Barnabas Collins returns to save Victoria Winters after her return in 1968 to 1795. In this timeline, Ben Stokes and Barnabas destroy Angélique by fire. In the second timeline, Barnabas in 1897 returns to 1795 following Kitty Soames, who has been drawn into Josette's portrait. There, Angélique tries to convince Josette to throw herself off Widow's Hill as she had in the first 1795 timeline, but Barnabas sends Natalie du Prés to rescue her. Angélique is not destroyed in the third and final timeline.

Angélique was a powerful witch of the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. Angélique was also a former ally, enemy, friend, lover, and wife of Barnabas Collins.

Biography[]

Miranda DuVal (1692)[]

Angélique was born as Miranda DuVal during the 17th Century in the West Indies of Martinique. During her early teen years, Angélique traveled to America, where she became a faithful and loyal follower of a warlock named Judah Zachery. Judah took Angélique under his wing and taught her the sacred arts of magic and witchcraft. One year later, both Angélique and Judah were captured and exposed as witches by the civil authorities. Fearing her fate of death, Angélique betrayed Judah by testifying against him in exchange for her freedom.

Angélique Bouchard (1795)[]

Miranda was later reincarnated as Angélique Bouchard on August 31, 1774. She was raised by Theodore Bouchard, whom she believed to be her father before she came to work for the du Prés Family. Later, Angélique realized that her father was André du Prés, but she never told him. As the Countess Natalie du Prés' servant, Angélique followed her to Collinsport, Maine. However, after having a brief affair with Barnabas Collins, Angélique was heartbroken after Barnabas declared his love to another woman - Josette du Prés. After countless failed attempts to rekindle her romance with Barnabas, Angélique hexed a powerful spell to manipulate Josette’s love for Jeremiah Collins, Barnabas’ uncle.

Cassandra Blair (1968)[]

During the early spring of 1968, Angélique changed her name to Cassandra Blair, and became the second wife of Roger Collins. Roger introduced his new bride to his family. Cassandra received a lukewarm welcome and Barnabas (who immediately recognized his estranged former wife) never doubted her true identity.

Valerie Collins (1840)[]

A post-1795 Angélique was encountered in 1840 by Barnabas, where she had no knowledge of future events. Angélique posed as "Valerie Collins," the wife of Barnabas. Initially once more an antagonist, Angélique eventually aided Barnabas against the threat of Judah Zachery and Lamar Trask and lost her powers in the process. She testified on behalf of Quentin Collins, who had been found guilty of witchcraft and sentenced to be executed. As a result, Lamar shot and mortally wounded her. Angélique died in Barnabas' arms, moments before he finally declared his love for her.
